Question Cloudy during Cycle?

Is it normal for the water to get cloudy during the first cycle? Our little 45g has been running for about 2 weeks now and the first week it was crystal clear, it started to cycle about 5 days ago and it has been cloudy since.

Is it just a bacteria bloom? I haven't dosed anything nor have I done anything but put top off water in the tank.

Probably wouldn't worry about it and let the dust settle.

Have you added any additives that might cause any precepitation? Some additives will cause precipitation.

I know this happened to me when I first started, but I put some stuff in to raise the PH and the water got cloudy. I left it alone and the water cleared up.

Cut way back on main light time. This helps reduce algea blooms. Be sure you have enough LR and good flow and some type of media filter with replaceable carbon cant hurt at least during cycle and while performing water changes.

You shouldn't do water changes during a cycle unless you have stuff living in your tank and you're trying to prevent them from dying.
