IMO...If you have the time, I would do water changes every week. It will keep you tank looking nicer. I have a few friends that do it every 2 weeks or so. But the 2nd week the tank starts looking pretty ratty

I had a poor waterchange routine for about a year. Then I made some changes to the sump and mixing vat to make changes easier. I do a 10% once a week and clean the skimmer. I have seen more growth and better colors on my corals than ever before.
If you can swing it, Once a week is the way to go IME.

I do 30gal in my 150gal system minus the rock space, I do it every 2 weeks, sometimes 3, tank looks good even after 3 but I run AC in a reator, after the first week, it also depends on your bio load, and corals, my shrooms will tell me if it is over due.

In my opinion saltwater tanks & fish take maintance & time. If I wanted to have a great looking fish tank but no maintance...I whould just but a picture of a fish......lol lol lol
