Sedra alternative?

so i just got my ASM G-2 out of storage and the pump's missing. On top of that, Sedra 3500s are impossible to find used. Are there any alternative pumps? It only flows 350gph anyway. I just find it hard to swallow spending $80 on a 350gph needlewheel pump

Google Sicci pumps. Better then Sedras and comparable in size. i have used both and the Sicci is the best.

the sicce psk2500 will be way too much for that skimmer. its rated at 660gph, nowhere near 350. Not to mention the sedra3500 probably only pulls somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-15scfh vs. the sicces 40, you'll blow the lid off. Unless you're talking about a different sicce pump. I'd say a gen-x, but they're loud, or you could look into the Octopus replacement pumps on www.aquacave.com that site also has some other needlewheel pumps as well.

sedra 5000 would work well on that skimmer with a mesh mod

I think GenX and Oceanrunners are good replacements. I have yet to replace my Sedra 3500. Going skimmerless for a few months now.

I've also read that people have used aquaticeco WP33 pumps. It goes for $20. Do a search on it and see what you can pull up.

my first concern w/ the pump is, is it a needlewheel or something? If not you're going to have to probably mesh mod it, that'll cost you ~$7. The venturi intake... if the pump goes IN your sump, not a problem, just drill the volute inlet close to the impeller hub and insert a 1/4" barbed fitting w/ a slice cut on it facing the impeller and connect some airline. kind of like this:

You might look at SEN pumps. They're the same manufacturer as the Sedras.
