Talking small tank help...

I asked about converting a 30g fresh to salt, and its sounding just a little to much for a first tank, I'm now wondering if anyone has any experience with a 5-10 gallon tank and any pictures? looking for some corral and a few small fish, anyone have some good starter kits or tanks? would love some pictures and i was thinking of doing the DIY rock with foam..... im a hands on kinda person love making stuff... any help would be awesome! and a general price range for starting the tank...

there is a forum on reef central dedicated entirely to nano tanks (small tanks).

reef central nano forum

dont forget tho that things switch much more quickly in smaller tanks. ur tank could be fine one day and all of a sudden have a major problem overnight from 1 overfeeding or a single decomposing snail.

I don't know why a 30 would be too much: cost, care, size?

That would be awesome super stooge, and norward, I'm working on 150$ budget... i found a person here locally with a 12g JBJ DX for 70$ shipped brand new in the box... anyone ever tried one of these? anything you'd change? upgrade? is this a good deal? sorry for being a nooby ive read for the last 6-7 hours on nano forums about people using biocubes/JBJ setups and am leaning towards that and just keeping my freshwater just that! freshwater! Also.... would a chiller be nessecary for a small tank in florida? room is kept at 74-76 year round...with fan over head and stand up fan..... again im a nooby
and thanks for everyones help! this site is unlike any other forum ive been on, everyones very eager to help!
