Its normal for any fish to lose there coloring when the lights go out. The Foxfaces turn brown due to the coloration of them.

I have had my fox face for three years they are a very hardy fish.
There is nothing to worry about that is just something the fox face does when the lights go out. I have even had mine turn black as well as brown.

Mine looks like a camouflage from yellow to almost black when he sleeps. He sleeps right in front and if you don't look real close you can miss him. During the day he goes back to the bright yellow.

How long does it usually take for 'em to get used to captive life? I just got mine a couple of days ago, and it's the shyest fish I have ever seen (or not seen)! I have only caught glimpses of it since I finished acclimating him. (Although right now, he is barely visible from behind a rock.

Give the fish a few days to a week to get adjusted.
