Algae question
I have notice my rocks and my snails are getting brownon the surface meaning the rock surface and the snail shells are like a brown and I notice I keep getting whatI think is algae spots it looks cloudy not a film just looks cloudy in certain spots with a green tint so small to get a pic of but I keep cleaning it off in different spots?
any ideas or is all that brown or is it normal

you need to take a turkey baster and lightly baste the live rock and sand bed and remove phosphates and nitrates ect that are accumulating on them--this is what the nuisance algae is feeding on.
direct one of those power heads down against the rock and substrate also with the skimmer adjust the overflow so that the water has to drop a touch into it--this will get the surface dissolved organics moving into the overflow rather then just stagnating around the overflow
