i've never owned one, but i hear they are hard to keep alive in captivity, and al of the jawfish like to jump.
not to mention they are around a hundred bucks.

the yellow headed pearly jawfish is a much better purchase. cheap, and they eat whatever floats by. they have the same "personality" as the blue spot, but not as finicky.

my blue spot eats mysis shrimp. he is really cool and i love his color. i paid 300 for him but it was an expensive store. my tank is covered but he never tried to jump. i don't think they are hard to keep at all.

I would love one and there on divers den a lot, but I don't know enough about them....

does it matter what substrate you have.... I have about 4" of livesand and crushed coral.... the crushed coral is on the bottom and I won't have it much longer when I get my new tank....

How does yours behave with ornamental shrimp/fish?

any other input would be great... thanks!

well atm he's the only fish in the tank. he doesn't bother anything in my tank. i think there just like other fish just more fun to watch. i watched mine for 3 hours after i got him because i watched him make his borrow. if you get on and they make there burrow where you can't see it don't worry because mine did that and a few hours later he made another right in front of my tank. they eat mysis shrimp and other stuff like that when it floats by there burrow. so it helps if you put the food right in the current by there borrow so it floats by. it may like the crushed coral.

they may eat pods but they rather have mysis. it should be fine with those inhabitants. make sure the tank is covered though.

I think I'm going to cover my tank with egg crate, would this be a good idea?
