how much light

looking for a range from moderate to high of how much light i will need for my 54 gal corner aquarium when i build the canopy. is something likeTHIS enough? Im looking at anywhere from 130-250watts. Also not sure as to how tall my canopy will have to be i guess that will depend on the lighting.

Jon

I think you could use that. Just make sure you deal with heat issues if you put it in a canopy. What kinds of stuff you planing on keeping?

Fish only - definetly enough
LPS coral - sure, you might loose some color
SPS coral - you need more light

shakanoi got it right though, be carful with the temp.

aastretch64: I dont think you would need more then 250w on a 54g tank. Im talking sps.
Depending of course on how tall the tank is and how far from the water the pendant is going to be,....and how much spread that particular reflector has

You could keep anything you want with just one. Just make sure to place the right coral in the right location.
Do you have a center brace? If so I wouldn't put the light directly over it.

On a corner 54 gal that system posted is adequate for a reef tank.
