tank size or water volume for flow calc?
Hey I was wondering when considering your dt flow rate should it be a major concern how stocked your tank is with rock sand etc...?

Though you can use it to come close theres no one way as there are many factors in play.In the home page of RC look down to the left and there are calculators there.GL..

Yeah I was just thinking about using something like the density of CACO3 and how many lbs of rock and sand to get a rough dt volume. Seems like someone with a 6" sandbed would have a bit less water to move than someone with a bare bottom tank. Rock I would think would impede the flow so that probably wouldnt be much a consideration. But I dont know just a thought.

You got it. You want constant steady flow in the whl tank so loose rock for water to move around helps. If you have alot of rock then more flow would be needed. Its all about keeping a balance.
