Orange moss on base rock
Do you think it will be a problem to have some orange moss type stuff on my base rock. I have been rinsing it off and tried scrubbing it of, but it is a pain to get off. I would think it won't be a problem as the tank won't have any thing in it for a while. You can see it in this pic.

hmm....
Was the base rock dry when you got it? Was it sold under the name "lace rock"? If it was dry and sold as lace rock, I'd bet the orange stuff are lichens. If they are lichens, they are harmless and will eventually die off then decay away. -avp |

I have the same stuff in my tank. It will die off as your tank cycles. You may end up with some cottony growths on it as it decays, but it'll rub off with a toothbrush.
