RO/DI Question

I just hooked up my RO/DI unit from Buckeye. I have the valve to the waste all the way open. The pressure guage reads 42 psi. If I close off the waste valve a little it will raise the psi. Is there any certain reading that I should try to get on the psi guage? Or should it be fully open all the time?

It should be fully closed when in operation. What you describe sounds like a flush valve. You can open it before and after use to flush the membrane.

Its the yellow tube that I routed so it will go down the drain. Its supposed to be shut off all the way? I'm still a little confused. The white tube is going into my 5 gallon jug. Its a small trickle. This is my good water. Where does the bad water go?

Just close the valve all the way. You should be getting around 1 to 4 good to bad water.

What unit do you have? Does it have a flush valve?

You should have a 4:1 ratio (bad water : good water) from the unit.

With the unit off what is your incoming PSI? with the uit running what is your PSI, and last what is your bad:good ratio?

If I shut the waste water valve all the way off, then where will the "bad" water go?
With the waste water valve open my psi is 42. With it all the way closed it is around 75.
(I think I just found the answer to my question when I walked into the kitchen to check the psi's. The valve is in a "Y"!!!! Water is still going to the waste tube!
Sometimes my own stupidity amazes me!

If it is in fact a flush valve, if you close it all the way then the waste water should still come through pretty well. On mine when I close it 1/2 way then the water slows way down, and if I close it the rest of the way, it should start coming out more. Try that and see if that is it.
