skimmer question. please help
hello,
i have a brand new euro reef rs135 that's been running for 24 hours in my 100 gallon reef aquarium. the problem i'm having is it's creating too many micro bubbles and it's filling up my aquarium to the point where it looks completely foggy. i've attached a video i took of the skimmer in hopes someone might be able to help me fix it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mHLkowE2jQ can someone please let me know how to fix this. it's driving me crazy. thanks! -zach |

It takes time for the skimmer to break in. The microbubbles will deacrease over time. Bring the sponge up over the exit pipe this will act as a bubble trap. A filter sock on the drain would help take some of the bubbles out. It's hard to see what's really going on in the video.

I agree with Percula9, Go to you LFS and pick up a filter sock. It should stop over time.

Yep, it'll be alot less in the next few days. A filter sock will work wonders as well.

i actually already have a filter sock in my sump. even with that on, i still have tons and tons of bubbles.
do you think it's just a normal part of having a new skimmer? is this common? |
