Baby File Fish From Gulf of Mexico.
Fishing off my boat today in the Boca Pass, Got a small 4inch red grouper, who is doing great so far, but, I also get seaweed that is FULL of pods for the Mandys, one piece had 9 baby file fish stuck to it . I got them in my QT tank right now. Dont know too much about them, wondering if anybody knows anything about them? Thanks!

I would put them back, the food that I have found that they like the most is the eye balls of your other fish. They may pick at some corals but the fact that they will most probably kill everythin else (or blind them) kind of makes the decision easy

I have a 30 gal set up with all kinds of small clams, urchins, shrimp, sand sifting crabs(they look like bugs u can see through and burry themselfs in the sand) seaweed(for pods my ref has a male mandy in it that im fatten him up) All come from the Gulf, so I put them in there and there all eating. O yea there are 15 not 9. Gonna put back for sure but not right now, I think I will hang on to them and watch them grow a bit, since they post no danger in there. they do seem to be picking at everything, Thanks for your help Ryan.
