I do not know what the best skimmers are and what to stay away from.

What kind of tank do you have? Where do you plan on putting the skimmer? How much money are you willing to spend? Need more info before we can help.

JBuffetReefer, It's 10:30 AM here but after reading your sig I think I'll go grab a beer!
Land Shark anyone? Almost forgot, If you can use an in-sump skimmer the smaller Octo's are a decent value and performer. I use the older 110 on my 65 and it is a decent, reliable performer.
