150w vs 250w
Hey all, I'm working on a new tank and i wanna go with MH's this time. Looking at the various models etc...I'm looking to get a 48inch and my tank will have 18 inch depth....can anyone explain the difference in what i'll be able to keep under 150w vs 250w for that kinda tank?
Thanks in advance! ...Feel Free to recommend any all in one MH units:P |

IMO 150's should be able to cover your needs without the adeed electric and heat issues from the 250's.
I run 150's on a 30" deep tank and am limited to softies or LPS towards the bottom with a few SPS near the top. I am also limited to bulb temp to maintain decent PAR values but am currently running the 14K pheonix to see if everything will stay healthy. I felt I needed some more blue and I sure got it with the 14K. I just installed 1 yesterday and I don't know if it will be more blue or white after it burns in, time will tell.
