One pump for skimmer/return?

Does anyone run one pump for there skimmer and return pump? I was thinking about getting a reeflo barracuda and running my etss 800 skimmer and i need to return around 1000 gph to the tank at 6 foot head height Do you think this would work??

That should work...I run a barracuda though my reeflo 200 skimmer, up 10' head,some through my fuge and the rest out through my return lines in the tank.
