Sulphur Denitrator

Hi all, currently im running a DIY-ed denitrator tats running on sulphur..

Above the sulphur beads.. i have rowalith C+ as a buffer media in the ratio of 1(sulphur):1.5(buffer)... due to dropping KH, i measured the ph at the output and it was fairly low...

and so.. i added on another 2nd chamber with rowalith C+ but yet the ph isnt at its optimal for my tank (8.2) and i think the KH is dipping due to this..

Can anione advise on this issue? Mayb suggestions for a better buffer media etc.. haha.. i almost exhausted all my bicarbonate supplement in a mth after i added the use of sulphur denitrator... oh manz..

Thx

I seriously doubt that you'll be able to buffer it to 8.2; I never was. A decrease in KH is a side-effect of a sulfur denitrator. I found that mine eventually stabilized at a lower level.

I eventually took down my sulfur denitrator because of that. However, I'm considering putting it back in action, since it really worked on the nitrate.
