Suggestion needed for phosphate test kit needed please

I am about out of my Salifert test kit and am not thrilled with the results. It is very hard to read at low levels and usually reads 0 anyway even though I know I have phosphates. Except for the $85.00 Merck kit and the photometers available, is there a reliable phosphate test kit that will test down to low numbers? I am running Prodibio and would like to test reliably down to low readings. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

DD Merck if not getting a hanna.

Buy the kit once, then you can buy refills.

Its tempting but not everybody like them and for $85.00 they should be really really good kits. I may have trouble reading them.

Does anybody have any experience with Elos, Seachem, or Red Sea phosphate test kits? I am looking for a lower cost way to check my phosphates every so often and I am not looking to drain the wallet .
Thanks in advance.

( time for a longer post i guess)

I have the Elos phosphate test kits.. its ok.. but nothing like the Hanna..

The Hanna really is the best way to get very accurate results without having to "guess"

once you get the unit the units for the tests are super cheap...

lol.. better?

Hehe, yep thanks. I know the Hanna is a great unit but do hobbiests really need it as opposed to a quality test kit? I really just need to know if my phosphates are above or below .05 ppm to be honest.

As I said in another recent phosphate test kit thread:

If you are going to spend 80 bucks on a phosphate test kit, you may want to consider a Milwaukee/Martini Phosphate colorimeter. Super easy to use, $169.00 and comes with reagents to do 100 tests. Refill reagents are $17.00. Just as good as the Hanna.

Herbie, I found that colormeter at Aquacave.com for $159.00. Now I am wondering if it would be worth it...
