ailing cardinal

the banggai cardinal that I got tusday has been slowly declining, and I am getting really worried. I have him ina net inside a QT tank, tankmate is a firefish that will be going into my display next week (no sign of disease and eating very well).

so far he is gasping for breath, lethargic and not eating (even live brine shrimp!) I want to do everything I can for this little fighter, and am seeking any help that can be offered. his colors are still bright and he is still reacting when I am near the tank.

I am thinking that maybe he was caught with cyanide? is their anything I can do? help!

is he eating or not? - sometimes these have trouble adapting as far as their menu - try differnet foods - are you doing water changes - use your main tank as replacement water - do a 20% change

run some carbon
