Proposed stock list for my 75g
Here's what I'm thinking for my 75g. I know it's a bit much and am looking for some suggestions on what to drop.
2x A. Ocellaris Clowns (have these already in QT) 1x Green Mandarin (Must have! Awesome fish, already getting my fuge running) 1x Fairy/Flasher Wrasse (Must have for GF) 1x Yellow Tang OR One Spot Foxface (Would really like one of these 2) 3x Blue Green Chromis 1x Coral Beauty Angel 1x Longnose Hawkfish 1x Yellowtail Damsel Plans for the tank is going to eventually be some easy softies, zoos, and maybe some easy LPS. I've got 2 more Korallia 3's on the way to help with any flow issues. |

I dont think its too bad, just hold off on the Manderin till it gets established.
I have 13 fish in my 75 3" is the biggest.

Wow... what kind of skimmer and how much LR you have in there for that many fish? or am I just being paranoid about overstocking?

Nice. I'll have to see how it goes then. Anybody have a stocking order for these fish? Quite a few of them are listed as "semi-aggressive". Clowns are going to be added first, not really sure after that except for the Mandarin is going to be about 6month-1year out to allow my fuge time to mature.

If it were me I would....
Ditch the Damsel.... in a tank that size it won't take him long to start terrorising everything! You may be lucky but why take the chance! Swap longnose hawk for a scarlett hawk.. they have awesome personalities. Swap coral beauty for a flame angel (just my personal preference) Also I have a foxface just for keeping the green stuff in check, he's nice but im not a 'huge' fan, also the yellow tang can get aggresive sometimes, its stunning fish with such a vivid yellow......but, I would consider getting a nice powder brown/goldrim tang... they are stunningly beatiful, ime more placid than the yellows and just a bit different. Whatever you choose its all down to personal preference, so good luck & enjoy. |

you also have to remember that the 13 fish in his 75 gal. are small. not like your tank that will get much bigger and such so don't just go by well he has 13 fish why can't I well you can if they are all small fish that stay small.
i would stick to the yellow tang though as the powder's are very prone to getting ich and also will out grow the tank. |

i also agree, ditch the damsel. i have three in my 75 gallon tank i only got them b/c they were cheap in the beginning & i didn't want a 20$ + fish dying first off. I am now stuck with them 3 years later b/c i don't have the heart to get rid of them. I have to rearrange my rock work every time i get a new fish to keep down the fighting. I also have a yellow tang and a flame angel those are my 2 favorite fish.

i'd get the yellow tang vs the foxface. i used to have a yellow tang before my tank got nuked. I replaced him with a foxface. he is not nearly as active and a much duller yellow... kind of a boring fish IMO.

yeah, I was kind of leaning toward the tang as well. The markings on the foxface are awesome though.
With all the horror stories I've read about damsels I think I might talk to "the family" and see if it can get dropped lol |
