LAST NIGHT I FEED MY SEA SERPENT SOME SHRIMP, THERE WAS A LITTLE THAT SETTLE TO THE BOTTON. AFTER LIGHTS OUT I SAW A RED WORM COMING OUT OF THE SAND. HE NEVER CAN ALL THE WAY OUT, BUT WHAT WAS OUT MY HUSBAND SAID WAS 10-12 IN LONG AND STILL SOME OF HIM IN THE SAND. HE IS RED AND HAS BRISSLE FROM WHAT I COULD SEE. EVERYTIME WE TURN THE LIGHT ON HE WAS GONE, BUT HE DID GET THAT MEAT. IS THIS A BAD THING IF SO HOW DO I GET HIM OUT.

Probably a bristle worm. They are harmless in small numbers and size. I have two that are about 12 inches long and they are interesting to watch. If they start to bother you you can always put some shrimp in a new, clean nylon stocking and sink it to the bottom. The worms bristles will get stuck in the nylon when he goes for the shrimp. You can discard him from there. Be warned however, they pack quite a bite and can really hurt. Use caution.
