Python No Spill Clean 'N Fill
Does anyone have any experience or know about the Python No Spill Clean 'N Fill? Im thinking about getting one to clear up the algae on my sand, but want to know if it's worth the 30 bucks to buy?

it says "Refills the tank with water from the faucet (freshwater only) for ultra-quick water changes."
I don't think it is for saltwater.

1. there a sink no more than 10 ft from my tank 2. knowing that the sink is close, would I stick with the one I'm asking about. 3. If i were to get the one you recommended, what size should i get (I have a 210 gallon aquarium, 28 inches deep)

Well this is what it says,
The Python No Spill Clean 'N Fill easily adapts to most faucets, using water pressure to simultaneously siphon water from your aquarium and clean aquarium gravel. With a flip of the Python faucet pump, clean fresh water is directed back to fill the aquarium. Put an end to the backbreaking bucket brigade... and its mess!

IMO its a lot of money to spend to have the sink start the siphon for you and i wouldn't recommend using tap water to refill the tank. for that size tank i would get this one http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewIt..._~vendor~.html or this one http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewIt..._~vendor~.html

I have used one for over 15 years now and love it. I have a 100' one and when I do water changes I run it outside to a hose faucet to drain the tank, so I don't have to dirty up a sink, or worry if its going to over flow. I have 3 tanks on different floors of my house and it makes things much easier.
I also don't use a RO system for my water changes so I just use the python to fill my rubbermaid garbage pal with fresh water for mixing. Usually I stuff the vacuum end with a small filter bag of carbon, a poly filter, and then some filter floss and run the water from the faucet through it very slowly to fill up the salt mixing pal. The pal is usually set up next to the tank that I am working on a few days in advance so the salt mix can stabilize. Then I just use a pump and some tubing to pump the water into the tank. |
