No nuisance algae or pests?
Hi,
Can anybody really claim that their tank has no nuisance algae or pests (eg., hair algae, aptasia, etc.)? Seems like no matter what I do I always have some (not overrun, but have to keep up removal maintenance on it). Just wondering if I'm still doing something wrong or if a little bit of these things can always be expected. Thanks, John |

i don't think so. i have no nuisance algea, but aiptasia sprouts up in my sump from time to time. my DT luckily has been free of both for about 6 months or so now.

I don't think you can ever be completely algae or pest free. It's part of the challenge of this hobby. We can do our best with the right equipment, livestock, water quality, etc to minimize these things. But there's no magic bullet.
