I use the mag 5 that came with the skimmer. Is it new? they take a few weeks to break in. I also have the same model dog you have.

This will help it ramp up in performance. Go to a hardware store and get a 1" elbo with the same threasd the the 3/4" you have on it now and replace it with the 1" and put the injector in the 1" tread it in and watch it go. and use 1" tubing from your pump to the barbed fitting. you might need a bigger barbed fitting on the pump or slid the 1" hose over the threads on the pump and clamp it down.

Reefing is'nt how long you been in it. It is how deep you get in it.

Current Tank Info: 400g display build, 300g sump, 75g ATO, 75g refug and a few more. Close to a 1000g. 200g mixing station.

do you have the instructions for the skimmer? if not. go to marinedepot.com and go to the ev 120 page, click on support and you'll get the instructions.

Or just go to the AquaC site and download the manual. I'm running an AquaC EV-180 but with a one-zie-larger pump (Mag 9.5 v. 7). It runs great. It will 'calm down' from time to time but comes right back. I've only had my system 'up' a few weeks and the one thing I've learned with the AquaC is to make small changes and WAIT. It takes awhile for the skimmer to stbilize after any changes.

I have a ev180 and currently am running a 9.5 on it. It is ok but was thinking about throwing a mag 12 on it. I personally have found with mine, and others, these skimmers need pumps far larger than recommended to perform to their capabilities. I am getting a ev 400 hybrid and can't wait to see what that thing can do!
