Question HELP...Mocha Colored Stuff on Tank

I have been cycling my tank since May 3. Yesterday I saw a mocha color film on my LR. Now the tank has this mocha color film all over it. Can someone tell me what this stuff is?

It's okay, it's the first diatom bloom due to the cycling of your tank. Hang in there.

I'm guessing its just algae? What is your light cycle like?

A pic would help tremendously.

Yup, sounds like diatoms. Ours is going through the same thing. We started the cycle on April 16th.

When I had my diatom outbreak I never had them on the glass or the rock... They were just on the sand?

Do you know if the diatoms will hurt the feather duster that hitched to the LR?

Do you think it will be alright to add more LS & LR? I was planning on going to the LFS this weekend.

Thanks again for all ur help.

The diatoms won't hurt anything.

If they don't go away, Astrea snails will eat them once your cycle is finished.

Adding more LR & LS would be okay but it will probably extend your cycle.
