From what i have been told the current fixtures are good but the bulbs are really bad quality. I have a 14k Phoenix in my light and i dont think it will ever change, good prices and the color quality is awesome.

I run 150w Pheonix 14k's. I am happy with the color and growth. I think I will be running AB 10k as my next choice. Should give that nice white full spectum shallow reef look with great PAR. This will let me run them on a 6 hour PP.

I'm currently running reeflux 10k and really like the bright white light.

Are you using an electronic or magnetic ballast and are they 150w lamps?

JACKPOT mi^2 reefer!!!! Certain bulbs, I don't know which ones, require a specific ballast to give off their rated spectrum or even turn on!! If you have an electronic ballast you should be OK!
