purely H20 RODI

So probably a stupid question but I am for the first time going to order all new cartridges for my Purely H20 Optima Vision RODI unit and was wondering If I can use any generic brand off of say marine depot or do I need to order replacements from purely H20. I am not happy with there customer service and would rather not give them the buisness if I don't have to

Thanks

"Generic"? You just need good quality 0.5 micron carbon block and 1 micron sediment.

They use standard sized 10" replacements. As Roland said though stick with the higher end lower micron replacements for best performance and filter life, although I disagree with the 1 micron prefilter. If the contaminants never reach the RO membrane it does not have to deal with them or flush them out so it will last longer in return which makes the DI last longer too. Look at an RO/DI as a complete system, every component depends on the piece before it and all need to be high quality for it to function well and last any length of time.
Myself, I buy nothing but Spectrapure absolute rated 0.2 or 0.5 micron prefilters and a 0.5 micron carbon block. There is a difference in prefilters for sure. Prefilters catch sdiment, particulates and colloidal materials so they do not plug the pores of the carbon so you want a smaller or equal size micron rating for the prefilter.

There is a difference in filters be sure you get high capacity filters from someone in the marine hobby trade.
