frag tank lighting questions

i am going to be starting a 10 gallon frag tank. can i use a regular light thats about 150 watts. or not ? can i use a 250 watt halogen ?

I would say its not a good idea. Most halogen bulbs will run a very cool color temp and be a very yellow color. Say around 3000k. The sun is around 6500k. Most keep their reefs at 10,000-20,000k, but thats usually just for the look. I would personally shoot for around 6500k-14,000k for a frag tank.
