Individual reflectors, I went with the SLR reflectors. 4x39 watt but they are overdriven to 60watts each.

nice!

question: im looking into getting a T5 with 216w total and one single reflector - that should be sufficient enough to grow the kind of stuff you have right?

I was told that the individual reflectors is what makes the T5's so great. I would find a system with individual reflectors.

individual reflectors are one of the main reasons t5's are great. they are so skinny that a good portion of that light can be reflected down into the tank, maximizing your light output per bulb. putting 4 or 5 in 1 reflector greatly reduces the efficiency of the reflector so alot of your light won't be going down, where you want it to go.
spend the money, get individual reflectors. you'll be happy you did.

Looking good, what are the dimensions on the 55 gallon? I have never seen one wide like that.
