Chiller Install

Hi,

Is it OK to install a in-line chiller on the return line to the main tank from the sump? Would this be too cold for the main tank?

Thanks
Ed

I think it would reduce its affect. I would get it in a lower flow area.

I am using a aquanetics afc 2 and the flow rate recommended by the manufacture (400 to 800gph)is about right on with the return line to the display. I was worried about shooting cold water in main tank.
Thanks
Ed

Is it 400 or 800.Then length and return heads reduce this amount. Adding this will only reduce its flow even more.

I am using a genx-4 return pump (up 8' across 8' using 2- 3/4" lines). Just worried about cold water hitting corals.
Thanks
Ed
