emailed Hal.

Those are "weird" looking chillers.

Is that what you have DarG?

They really arent weird at all, just the way the case is made to accomodate the parts lay out. He uses top of the line parts, Copeland compressor, condensor and the heat exchanger housing is a heavy walled PVC. It's a typical design, just with parts layed out to reduce overall size. BTU's are also rated at 90 degrees. I had a perfectly working Current USA modular which are nice chillers, 1/3 hp. The Tradewinds 1/3hp drops the temp 2 degrees in my tank in less time than the Current dropped it 1 degree. They are amazing chillers. And they arent even designed to work the hell out of the compressor, they are designed to extend compressor life, and they still kick heats arse. USA owned company, usa built chillers and HAL knows his stuff, no doubt. 2 year warranty is standard and for a few bucks extra you get a 3 year extension.

Ive had several chillers over the years, including Universal Marine which are great chillers. I could not be happier or more impressed with the Tradewinds. Hal has my business for as long as I am in this hobby.

Long weekend with the Holiday, you may not hear from him until Tuesday. He usually has replied to my emails within a few hours so the holiday weekend is probably going to delay his reply. its worth the patience
