Ok, so I'm going to get a 48x30x24 glass tank built. I'm going for low budget so keep that in mind...but I have no idea if cheaping out is worth it or not.
Tank-no overflow is $335 To make the tank "trimless" at the top is extra because they'd have to sand the top edge down. Now they are saying that this is just going to be sanding the top edge and not polishing it, since this is the edge facing the ceiling it doesn't matter if the edge is polished or not. So for $385 I'm getting a trimless (only on top) tank with a sanded edge and standard bracing.... Full eurobracing and polishing at the top is $555..... that is out of my price range. Am I being a fool by trying to go rimless and cheaping out by just getting it sanded and not polished? (even just polishing runs closer to eurobracing prices) What does a sanded edge look like? |

Sanded glass looks frosted. If you want it to look better get a telescope lense polishing abrasive and follow the directions that come with it.

I think a low budget tank and a custom tank don't go very well in the same context. Low budget get a RR, with the trim and standard size. If you want to go custom then dig deep and do it right.
