skimmer for a 180 gal

I am setting up a bigger tank to move all my sps corals to, what skimmer should i get. Tank is finishing its cycle right now and i have a aqua c-240 on it now that im not happy with. Tank is barebottom with about 200pounds of live rock, a sump that holds about 20 gallons, and then a small frag tank hooked to it.
Skimmer could be in or out of the sump., new or used.Want to try and stay under 500 if possible.....
thanks

MSX extreme 250 is what I picked up for my new 200g. If you want to be in the 500 dollar range this IS the best skimmer for the buck it seems.

For under $500 I would go with the Octo Extreme 200 or 300.

I have a Bermuda Aquatics BPS-5C on my 180 and it does a bang up job using a Mag 12. I pull out about 1/2 gal of skimmate every 2 days. My tank has a fairly heavy fish load Naso, Powder Blue, Kole tang, Pink Tail trigger, Sailfin tang and about 6 decent size green Chromis. Predominantly SPS tank.

Skimmer is about 500 plus cost of Mag 12.

Hope this helps.

Herb

They are pretty much the same really. The only real difference is that the FO tank can run high N03 but its still best to keep it low as possible.

Again for the money you can't beat the MSX-250 / octopus E250.

That is the skimmer I would buy.

BTW guys, the Octopus Extreme 250 and MSX 250 are the same skimmer.
