Lightbulb SE metal halide question

gday all,

im just wondering, i run 2x250w 14k SE radium halides.
and i run them in the reflector with the glass sheet in.

Can they be run without the glass sheet in? this will reduce heat.

is it safe?

radium only makes 20k and no 250W double ended bulbs.

If its radium 20K single ended you do not need a glass shield if you have DE yes you want to use the glass shield for UV protection

as long as they are single ended bulbs you are fine without the glass
