Coral question

My new 39g is going to be a mixed reef for the most part. I wanted to have zoanthids, some rics, clams, and eventually SPS. I will read about whatever it is I plan on getting, that is not the problem. My main concern is compatibility. Will these do fine together provided space, light, food, etc.?

I don't see any problems with that combo.

Okay, one other question. Can you see any possible way of these harming cuttlefish? Other than that my only concern left is to make sure the cuttles have room to swim and to keep nitrates down for the SPS/clams.

for 1 thing your tank is to small for a cuttle fish and they will knock over your corals and such, keep cuttlefish to a tank of their own.

sepia bandesis only get to about 4" long, they are not like octos(pulling everything apart and escaping). They love to swim around, but probably couldn't knock a coral over if they tried. I've done a lot of reading on cephs because I find them to be one of the coolest critters you can keep in a tank.

Lots of people mix SPS and Cnidarians, like zoas and mushrooms, but you really shouldn't, especially in a small tank. These don't live near each other in the wild, and the Cnidarians are quite noxious to SPS. If you do keep these together, you should run a lot of carbon to help alleviate the allelopathy. Much is written about "reef gardens" and the cons against them.

Yeah, I have read about the toxins given off by these that is why I asked. I will be running a carbon reactor if that helps any. Any other opinions from anyone?
