I thaw formula 1 with tank water then chop it up and feed with a turkey baster to target feed.
Formula two I set the net in the water and the put a small amount to float in the net. When it is thawed I push it through the net with my finger a bit at a time. I like both 1 and 2 verry much, but I also like to feed my fish fesh stuff from the seafood place also.

Most of the time I just toss the cube in and let the fish go nuts. If I'm feeling nice I thaw it out before I toss it in. When I first started using the stuff, my fish would not touch it. I transiently had a vlamingii that taught everyone in the tank how good the stuff really is. It's amazing what competition will do for appetite

An Ocean Nutrition rep advised me to thaw their foods that contain gel binder without using water. Just thaw the cube in a dish dry...it will crumble into pieces...then put it in the tank.
