hitch hiker on live rock, please identify.
I bought some very nice live rock from another reefer that was breaking down his tank. I brought it home dry a couple hour trip. Then I put it in a covered trash can for holding until I can finish getting my tank set up. I'm planning on having it done next weekend. The rock has been in the trash can for 8 days now with heat, flow, and air but no light. I look at it often and found out the second day that a couple snails and several very small stars which are green had survived the trip. Well tonight when I went out to look at my rock I found this. Is it what I think it is? Is it my first coral? Is so what type?

Its Aptasia, and as cool as it looks, you wanna get rid of it. Just get a couple peppermint shrimp and they'll eat em' up in to time flat. If you don't have access to peppermint, you can inject them with vineger. If thats impossible too, VERY CAREFULLY cut them off.
They will overwhelm your tank in no time flat if you don't nip them now. |

You can also try Joes Juice. It is fairly inexpensive and worked for me. However, it did damage one of my corals, so do it before you put the rock in your tank.
