Refugium ?

I have a lifereef sump with 3 chambers, two drains left and right middle for return. I'm thinking of doing a refugium on the right it's about 7 inch deep by 13 * 12 water. Would that be enough space. What kind of light? Do I have to have sand thanks in advance. The total height is 14 half filled with water.

that will be plenty of room.

you don't need sand, but you can use it if you want. alot of ppl just put macro alage and some LR rubble.

as for a light, I use this kind. http://www.melevsreef.com/fuge_bulb.html

And use chaeto not caulerpa for your macro algae. If you have extra live rock or rubble, that too is a good thing.

Here's what I use to light my refugiums.

I have the same exact light setup as Tswifty, the chaeto grows really well.
