How frustrating!
Well I'm on attempt #6 and so far I still hate my aquascaping in the 120. Every attempt I've made looks like it was just thrown in there. The problem is, I have 2 bottom drilled overflows that I can't seem to get around. It's an SPS dominant tank, so I need to make sure I have enough places to keep everyone from fighting. Some of my colonies are 18" tall and need alot of space.
Should I do arches? pillars? How do you guys come up with a design? I have a mix of tongan shelf and figi rock to work with. Well over 300 lbs available (though not all that will go into the tank). Speaking of which, how much rock SHOULD be in a 120? |

1 1/2 lbs per gallon is good start. you might want to do a dry test. what i did was lay out a diagrtam of the tank bottom and take the rock and see what pieces will work together. scape something and set the extra rock to the side. i had 115 lbs extra when i was done. and then put it in the water. the time ity is out of the water should not affect it. good luck and patience.

For some ideas, check this site out: http://www.reefvideos.com/
Also, be sure to watch the mounting and pegging video. This saved me much grief. A similar concept can be used to join your Live rock together. |

apparently you missed my post on your other thread which asked the same question:
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...readid=1414756 Just take some time to look through the threads and gather some ideas. Throw the lbs per gallon rule out the window. Just aquascape to your liking, and you should be fine.

nope. I saw it. I found a few that I liked but they won't work in my tank. Many of my rocks are occupied by corals, specifically plating monti. It's making scaping damn near impossible. I'm considering selling off some of them and just keeping frags.
