3/4" drain...
Want to know whether a 3/4" drain will be adequate for a 23g DT w/ 10g sump. Since the tank is 23g I suppose the return pump flow rate should be at most 200gph to avoid microbubbles through the sump. I was thinking of using an eheim 1250 once I give my current Mag5 a try.
Will I just bring about issues with a 3/4" drain? I will only be drilling for one hole so I want the hole to be as small as possible to avoid the 5mm thick glass from cracking. My initial thoughts were for a 1" drain but it seems with a 3/4" drain I can make the overflow box small plus the hole size will be smaller making the glass less weak. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance |

I think a 1" hole will be better, if you can get away with a 3/4" hole, then I don't see the problem in doing so.
