Urchin's

I was thinking of getting a long spine urchin for my tank, or a short one, but i was concerned as to if they can scratch glass?

No they can't...

But I do know that the short ones (pincushion) eat coraline, not sure if the long spine ones do also.

Some people like lots of coraline... some don't. Just wanted to let you know though.

The pet shop told me that they move rocks around, so if a rock falls then your tank could get scratched.

They also pick up stuff (including small frags) and carry it around on their backs as camouflage.

Yeah, amen to that. But they can get into places that are amazing -- usually at a cost of something useful.

I have a long spine and he does eat coraline. Surprisingly enough, he is rather gentle with corals. Havent seen him knock anything over.
