Algae Question (worried) - Asked in "New to the hobby" too.

Hello all,

Could you please tell me what kind of Algae this is sticking up? And how to get rid of it? Pic one is very zoomed, you can see it in front of the Xenia in the full picture.

Thank you
Shelley

Use RODI water to do more water changes, feed less, and/or make sure your skimmer is removing junk daily.

Bulbs are 6 weeks old...this is a new tank 5 weeks old. Water parameters have been great no fish yet. 3 or 4 soft corals. 16 snails, 1 emerald crab and 6 hermit crabs.

Parameters as of Friday:

Sp gravity = 1.025
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = 0
PH = 8.3
Ca = 400
KH = 9
Phos = 0

Thanks again!

correct. No water changes for atleat 8 weeks. Just wait and let the snails and hermmits do the trick. You can try brushing it off and let the pumps suck it up.
