***Fish In Shipment***

Just out of curiosity, when the power goes out... oxygen is an issue in the tank.

How do fish being shipped from online vendors make the trip for a day or two in a tiny bag?

Usually the bags are filled with pure oxygen, and I believe they have a chemical in there that keeps stress down. I can't remember exactly (and I've worked in a LFS for 5 years ). Maybe someone else will remember exactly.

I doubt it's either. But I'll find out when I go to work tomorrow. We ship fish across country so I'll be able to get the lowdown.

I heard they use pure oxygen and an anti-fungal solution? I think they also use liners as insulation to keep the heat.

So, I can safely assume that you are not responsible for packaging and shipping the livestock.

Heck, I don't remember what kind of soap I use everyday.
