red algae

cannot get rid of it,have to clean sand and rocks daily,added another power head 1200 gal = main pump 1200 gal,with wavysea power head.use sea chem reef salt know,was using tropic marin but could not keep ph in 8.2 area,using rodi water from start.3 250 watt metal halides and 4 96 watt actinics,8 moon lights.9 hours total on halides and 12 on actinics.phosphate below .1 cannot get to zero.

sounds like red slime. Go to your LFS and buy Chemi Clean or any other red slime killer sohuld clear it up in a few days. As a day or so stir your sand up and dose again or when it says to. Red algae/red slime can live in your sand and reappear so by stirring your sand a lil you can pretty much make sure its gone

Chemi Clean.

Or you can try Maracyn by Mardel (you can find at most Petco, ect).

Current Tanks... 90 gal Reef... My awesome Office BioCube....( 180 was on hold ..no time ) ... The 180 gal has been sold...Yay..yay..yay.
