I want to go from 12g to 60g...have question about stocking

I have a 12g nano tank, but I would like to move up to a 60g tank and connect the 12g as a refugium. I'm planning on investing in an AquaC EV protein skimmer.

I want to keep MANY smaller fish, in particular a school of chromis. Do you think this stock-list is safe for a 60g?

Example:
7-9 Blue/Green Chromis
3 Cardinalfish
2 Clownfish
1 Blue Tang
1 Sixline Wrasse
1 Yellow Clown Goby
1 Lawnmower Blenny
1 Fridmani Pseudochromis

I think a Blue Tang may be lil big for a 60g, but I guess it could go in there for short term, just make sure you have lots of swimming space.

That would be a crowded 60 gallon. Chromis get pretty big when full size.

That is pushing it for a 60g. Make sure you have lots of space for them to swim and have a way to control the bioload. I have a 65g with a small blue tang, 3 cardinals, a lawnmower blenny, and a mandarin and I am done adding fish.

Then I guess the others are going to get crossed off the list, because I most definitely want a school of chromis!

Another question...if I'm going to have a school of chromis fish in my tank, is it best to add them all at once? I know that the rule is to add fish gradually, but is less ideal to mix fish that weren't originally bred together?

I think the max anyone would say is 30" of fish (adult size) and most would stay well under it. I'd vote for the smaller bioload, easier to maintain. Your sand/rock etc is going to eat up space. You've got over 60" of fish in the list.

You may like 4/5 chromis just as well as 7-9. They will still school. At 7 you are looking at about 21" of adult size, at least 5 would buy you they pair of clowns. Like Urchinkiller15, I have a 65 and have never had more than 20" of adult sized fish (never actually got to that number)...

I'm currently swapping some of mine out and only have adult sized longnose hawkfish and six line in the tank. 8" I have a pair of clowns and kole in QT. Before they get moved to the display, the 5+" hawkfish will probably been in a new home. If not i'm at 21" of adult size fish (about 15" actual)
