Changing my lighting
I have a 92 corner tank and it is currently lit by a 30in light that is inverted (running front to back of tank instead of left to right)
The light I have is a 380w setup(250w halide in center with 2 65w pc actinics ) This setup is a pain to work with cause it places the switches and the cords at the rear of the tank. I have everything on a timer but if I needed to get to the switches it would be a problem. Plus it seems like the edges of the tank arent bright enough. And now one of my power compacts wont light again....piece of crap fixture I would like to switch to either an 8 bulb t-5 setup (312w)(not individually reflected but may try to fix that) or a 442w setup with 1-250w halides and 2 96w actinics or a 630w setup with 2-250w halides and 2-65w actinics They are 36in long fixtures (cant fit anything longer than that due to it being a corner tank and can't hang from the ceiling either) Here is the problem....I don't want to upset my white and pink sebae anemones by not providing them with enough light. One has only moved once since I have had it (wanted more flow) And both have doubled in size. So they seem pretty happy and I don't want to mess it up....although if he moved to the front again it would be nice. Any recommendations would be wonderful BTW here is a pic of the front sebae anemone. He is still a little faded from his previous home but getting more colorful everyday. This is about half size....he hasn't opened fully for the day. |
