Where do I go from here?

The attention I have been giving my tank has been lacking for the last 6 months or so because of a lack of time. It has been on auto pilot and I have had very few issues with anything. I guess I have been lucky. It has been up for about 5 years with very little problems. Time to re-evaluate. I have upgraded my lighting, have some new LPS and plan to add some more LPS/SPS, and have added a mandarin. And most of all I always think things can be better.

I have about a 10-15 gallon fuge with DSB, chaeto, and some rocks. All of my return empties into fuge.
The return pvc ends about 2" off the bottom so all of the sand is blown over to the side and this produces lots of bubbles. My chaeto grows like mad but I dont seem to see much other activity in the fuge other than an occasional small brittle star and snail. Are things too turbulent for pods to thrive. The the fuge then goes over a baffle and then straight to the sump.
Once into the sump the intake for my skimmer pump is situated so it pull right after the refuge line to the sump.
Is my skimmer pulling the majority of my pods out before the can get back to my tank via the return pump. I obviously want my mandarin to stay fat and happy.

Any suggestions for change/reorganization are greatly appreciated.
