No, it does not prevent salt creep. It just makes the salt easier to wipe off. I bought some when I first started (mistake) thinking it would keep the salt creep off of the shield on my light fixture.

The easiest way to wipe off "salt creep" is with a sponge dampened with hot water, then dried with paper towel..
I find 1 wipe with the sponge and 1 with the paper towel and all salt is gone.. Even if really crusty.. (Caution: Don't use a sponge from your Reef Tank.. ) AD |
