Swamp smelling overflow

Is this just another thing I have to get used to or are there ways to get rid of the stink. I am only cycling my tank but all of my equipment have been used. I scrubbed everything before cycling but it is still funky. Thanks in advance everyone I appreciate your feedback.

After it cycles it should go away and smell fresh and clean like the ocean.
