Here is my 75 with only two 150w at the time 14K phoenix bulbs over it. This was about 7 months ago. I have since switched to Ushio 20K's....

Spanky,
Nice tank, and thanks for showing us your tank pic. Do you use any additive and how old is your tank set up? lastly, why do you go from 14 K to 20 K do you still get the growth rate from your 20K compare to your old 14K light? I also just set up my new SPS tank using 150 w 14K DE Giesemann with other PC and T5 combination, I will post my tank pic when I get the chance. so far things has been running well, and my sps's are responding to the current light combination. to all who have 150 w sps tank, lets see them.

LOL....
Thanks guys. I only was dosing seachem amino's at the time of the photo. I switched to the 20K Ushio's to see if I could get better color. Some corals have colored up even better and others aren't as happy. Phoenix makes an excellent bulb don't get me wrong there. I just wanted to try something new after 2 years of using the phoenix. I most likely will either go back to phoenix or go with radium 20's.....Time will tell....

I'm workin on it. bluish 150 watters not exactly growth monsters. I tried 10k's but they're just too ugly without supplementing. pics are a few months old.

no problem getting growth with 150s and SPS. Stability of all other water parameters equally important.
Its been cleaned up a bunch since this, but you get the idea. My 65g. 2x150w Radiums with 42w t-5 actinic 420nm.

Ok, bringing back this good old thread again!
Here is my upgraded tank bellow. Question: I just bought my first SPSs Accro+Bird Nest (well I lost a few in my past tank under same light:150w14k+2x65PC), should I acclimate this guy reducing MH time for 2-3 days? At the LFS it was under LED for 3-4 days and before that at the trader... Also my MP40 will blow right on the accro, less on the BirdNest. Thanks
